What was the highlight of AANA Villas Koh Chang
Pretty hotel in a very green and wild environment, with a nice local thai restaurant
Beautiful location of the restaurant by the river, great local thai cousin that was hard to find in other restaurants (หลนปู Lon Poo), very nice breakfast with mixed thai and western food. Nice with the complimentary firefly tour. Free shuttle boat from the hotel to the beach a few minutes away. Extra plus with all the nice tropical fishes in the river.
Quite tricky to find your way around the mace of wooden stairs and walkways, almost no signs. The walkway was also in a slightly bad condition with pretty narrow stair steps. Could be a bit tricky to move around the area if you are not a bit agile. Not walking distance to the surrounding town areas.

Lovely relaxing place to stay
Great location, away from the busy areas of Koh Chang and the private shuttle boat to the beach was great.
The property is nicely designed, but a little bit tired. Still, the feel of the place was nice and relaxed so it didn’t put us off too much.

We loved the beds and the breakfast. The staff were also great.
The rooms and facilities are dated and in need of repair. The lagoon, although beautiful, skinks like sewage and the sand flies on Klong Prao beach are unbearable. If you have children choose another beach. The sandflies cause mosquito-like welts that last week's and are very itchy.

Good
big property has tons of rooms, liked that there were multiple pools, especially the top pool since the ground level it can get smelly near the river (not the hotel's fault). Average to above average breakfast quality (the thai food is better than the western food, lots of fresh fruits). And the food at the restaurant was also good for dinner. Very responsive staff - my shower had no hot water and they fixed it promptly. Beautiful mountain, river and ocean views from the restaurant. very comfy beds and happy with the mosquito net.
rooms are a bit damp, smelled really mildewy and had some mold on the walls. For getting around town, best if you can drive a bike, there aren't any shops or restaurants walking distance, but I liked that it was a quiet property. Also I wish it had a fitness center.
